POV: you live to tell the tale
This month we are candle shopping, party-hopping and torn on the toe shoe
Welcome to the October edition of POV, where Lauren van Zuilen (PR Director at L’AGENCY) kicks off and reflects on the grandeur of storytelling.
A good story. A spoken beat that triggers something inside of you and sticks around. An art form in itself, from beginning to end.
My view on brands and influencers alike is that they are stories to tell—a collection of characteristics that make up a whole. In today’s world, where we face an overload of information thrown at us daily and a decline in attention spans, a strong strategy is essential. In the world of PR, storytelling isn't just a strategy—it’s the heart of every successful campaign or profile. It starts with knowing who you are. My starting point is: what are your three values? All decisions should flow from these three core words, your point of view (POV).
Living by your values creates a storyline and forms a memory that will last with your audience, whether in business or in your personal life. Someone once told me: every memory that sticks with you is a companion that walks the journey of life with you every day. Define how you want to be remembered and master the art of telling your story.
So let’s conquer the chaos and cut to the chase, here is a list of tips from our team to yours…
What are we doing?
Detoxing at Movements Vondelpark by jumping on the return to the hot pilates hype.
Prepping our Museumnacht route because the 2nd of November will be here in no time.
Where are we going?
FOAM, the Viviane Sassen and Paul Huf exhibitions make it a must-visit shelter from the rain this season.

We’re amidst our favourite week of October: catch us at club RAUM this ADE, the place to be to end the bender at SPIELRAUM.
What are we shopping?
Flabelus flats are a team favourite this month: feminine comfort meets soft and velvet-y elegance in colourful combos.
Find a broad selection of colourful candles at Kramer Pontifex in the 9 streets, to stock up for the darker days ahead.

What are we listening to?
‘De Jakkaman pt. 1 & pt. 2’ by De Jeugd in celebration of colder weather and the announcement that there are new concerts planned (to honour their 20 year anniversary of being cultural icons).
Enjoying a symphony of flavours and soulful ambience at new spot CUE Listening bar.

What are we reading?
Zoë Akihary putting colour in a cultural context in her latest Art Direction post.
Sally Rooney’s latest novel ‘Intermezzo’, to find out if it is indeed even better than Normal People.
What are we working on?
Making sure the RAINKISS x The Vibe Arrived with special guest DJ Chuckie makes a splash this ADE.
Styling Founder Lena’s and Project Manager Lucía’s on-trend microbobs with the Balmain Hair texturizing volume spray.

What are we eating?
We’re all about stamppot nostalgia lately - favourites are the one at home-away-from-home restaurants Moeders and Hap Hmm, or Lena’s go-to DIY recipe.
Freshly made Gyozas from Het Oosten on Zeedijk, notoriously one of the best Asian places in Amsterdam.
What are we drinking?
Finding out which fine natural wine from Troppo Giovane is our new front-runner for dinner parties.
Whether you’re drinking or not this Stoptober, the Agustina Bottoni glassware gives every cocktail or mocktail a funky twist.

What are we noticing?
Scarves and sweaters are making a comeback this season (groundbreaking), but always in unexpected ways. Spoiler: the balaclava is still hot, and the scarf/sweater-turned-miniskirt à la Leandra Medine Cohen and Laurel Pantin is an office favourite.
Heavy discussions at the office about the FiveFinger toe-shoe. Are we ready for NYFW’s alleged trend to get picked up in Amsterdam?
